KC Beer Fest
1:36 AMMy brother-in-law, Matt, celebrated his birthday today at KC Beer Fest in the Power & Light District. He's an avid beer drinker so the timing of this beer festival couldn't be more perfect! I had a lot of fun and here are my highlights!
1) ARCHITECTURE
I love the Kansas City downtown architecture and the new One Light building has a special place in my heart as it overlooks the park and pool where my wedding and reception was held.
2) SOUVENIR TASTING GLASSES
Each person got a cute little souvenir tasting glass.
3) T-SHIRTS

4) BEER
I have to admit that I'm not a fan of beer. I headed to the first tent with my family for moral support and to just enjoy spending time with the ones I love on this awesome Fall afternoon. My husband suggested that I try Crispin Pacific Pear. I tried it and was immediately hooked!
Crispin Pacific PearMy sister got the Crispin Original (Hard Apple Cider)
5) CAJUN CABIN -
There were 2 food trucks that we tried. Gumbo from the Cajun Cabin.
Chicken & Sausage Gumbo
6) STREET WINGS
The other food truck was Street Wings. We got Buffalo Tots and Boneless Chicken Wings.
Buffalo Tots - Tots smothered in hot sauce with blue cheese crumbles and a dollop of sour cream. I felt like the tots were too spicy for my toddler pallet.

7) SANDLOT GOODS
I have an obsession with Sandlot Goods and #MadeInKC products. They had a booth set up in the middle of the Live Block.
8) KOOZIES
A month ago I would have thought it would have been crazy that I would want a koozy. I blame my love affair with Underwood Wine in a can. I spent a considerable amount of my vacation in the last 2 weeks in Marblehead, Massachusetts and New York City looking for koozies. I find it funny that there were 2 different ones that were being handed out at #KCBeerFest.
9) WONDERFUL FRAMILY
My sister and brother-in-law had a 5-month old and 3 year old at home. Spending time with them without the kids is always special.
10) DRINKING
What a great time. What I didn't capture was that #KCBeerFest also had cornhole games and jenga blocks. I can't wait to go next year!
