It wasn't until 4 years ago that I discovered how wonderful it is to attend the American Royal BBQ. On Facebook, one of my friends asked how much it costs and I realized that it was a little confusing if you've never been.
First, you have to pay for general admission tickets to the American Royal BBQ. General admission tickets gets you into the main activities (ferris wheel, etc) and get to watch live music on the main stage. There is food for purchase in the general admission section.
In addition to the general admission areas, you can also go to private parties (usually in the form of tickets). This year I got to attend the Operation BBQ Relief (OBR) party at the American Royal BBQ Pig-a-palooza event. Operation BBQ Relief was founded after the Joplin disaster to bring food to the people and first responders in that area. Many teams operate under the Operation BBQ Relief umbrella and several BBQ teams came together to have a private party.

Atmosphere / Vibe
The party for OBR was awesome from the moment you arrive After you check in at the front, volunteers hand out goodies from sponsors and you get the chance to win prizes. There was a large fire pit, a stage with a DJ performing, photo booth, 5 port-a-potties, a 2 story VIP section, merchandise for sale, 2 bars with unlimited drinks and all you can eat BBQ.
Royal Expressions offered a PhotoBooth.
Guests got swag bags from the BBQ Spot with rubs.
Koozy swag!

Another great sponsor, Kingsford.

Would I return? Yes - ABSOLUTELY I would!
Would I recommend to others? Yes
What needs improvement: More port-a-potties in the main areas of the private party sections
Pro-Tip: Bring Cash to tip and donate even though it's free to drink and eat.

I've been to several parties in the past and the Operation BBQ Relief folks had the most amazing food with a wide variety of BBQ sauces available.

Location / Parking
Location was good, but getting into Kauffman Stadium was a nightmare. It took us 45 minutes to get into the parking lot. Then we had to walk very far to the entrance, before back-tracking where we needed to be which was half way back to our car.NET:

I was so excited to try The Sundry, so we went here for my brother-in-law, Matt's birthday on Small Business Saturday. Located in the Crossroads District in Kansas City, The Sundry specializes in locally sourced dishes. One half of the Sundry is a market and the other half is a food counter. You can order food and pay at the counter and eat at long communal tables.
Before eating we perused the market side of The Sundry and looked at locally made products. They carry our favorite Vegan Tamales from the Mean Green.
1) Food
2) Atmosphere / Vibe
The Sundry has a nice, laid back easy going vibe.
I enjoyed the black chalk board that displayed local sources.
3) Service
The cashier answered all of our questions, but the menu board lacked adequate descriptions. You order and pay your food at the counter and when it's ready they call your name.
4) Sources
They make all food from local sources. BLT was on the online menu but the cashier said that they took the BLT off the menu since they couldn't source tomatoes locally.
5) Drinks
6) People
The crowd was sparse. My sister said as we were leaving that we should have taken it as a sign that the place was completely dead at 6pm on a Saturday night.
7) Menu
The menu is limited which is nice and not
8) Price
I paid about $7 - $9 for each dish. We each purchased 2 dishes a person and left satisfied. Thankfully, I had enough cash on-hand, since FüD does not accept credit cards.
9) Dining
The Sundry is located at 17th & Baltimore of the Crossroads District of Kansas City. The parking is wonderful on the weekends because no one is there and the area is pretty empty on the weekends.

Would I return? Yes, but only for the market.

Best food ordered: Pre-packaged pasta salad from the cooler on the market side. The best thing about this place is that it's farm to table.
What needs improvement: The food is bland and very fatty.
Pro-Tip: Only get food food from the market side

They carried Shatto and some pre-packaged deli items.
We all ordered different foods Cuban Sandwich, Smoked Chicken Bowl, Italian Beef Sandwich, Sweet Chili Pork, and Roasted Potatoes.
I love food, but I took 2 bites of my Italian Beef Sandwich and then threw the rest away. The other girls did not enjoy their food either. The boys finished their food. My sister and my friend complained that her dish was very bland. I didn't have bland food, my sandwich was full of fat, which turns my stomach.
Thankfully I remembered that the market side of The Sundry had prepackaged sides. I went and picked up a small container of pasta salad. It was very good.
The pasta salad was good, but the Italian Beef Sandwich was the grossest.

The fountain was weird, but I ordered water. I disliked that water is served in self-serve plastic cups.
